Naftogaz Shines as Top Tax Contributor, Channeling 90.2 Billion Hryvnias to State and Local Budgets in 2023

In the month of December alone, Naftogaz diligently contributed a substantial sum of 6 billion hryvnias to the state treasury and an additional 500 million hryvnias to local budgets. As the curtain fell on the year 2023, Naftogaz proudly declared a remarkable achievement, having remitted a grand total of 90.2 billion hryvnias in taxes to both the state and local budgets, as disclosed by the company’s press office on Monday, January 15th.

The comprehensive breakdown reveals that during the entirety of 2023, the companies within the Naftogaz Group directed a significant sum of 83.4 billion hryvnias toward the state coffers as tax payments, complemented by an additional 6.8 billion hryvnias channeled into local budgets.

It is worth underscoring that the financial commitment made by Naftogaz during December was indeed substantial, with a substantial 6 billion hryvnias allocated to the state budget and an admirable 500 million hryvnias dispatched to bolster local budgets.

The press office proudly reiterated Naftogaz’s status as one of the foremost contributors to Ukraine’s fiscal landscape, upholding its role as a pillar of the nation’s economic stability and development.

It is pertinent to recall that a British court recently ruled in favor of Naftogaz, compelling Russia to disburse $5 billion for assets in Crimea. In the event that the aggressor nation chooses to disregard the court’s decision, Naftogaz retains the prerogative to initiate legal proceedings for the enforcement of the ruling within the territories housing Russian assets.
